Rap-It-Up Film Contest, Finalist Selected

BET Networks, The Kaiser Family Foundation, and The Black Aids Institute announce the Rap-It-Up Film contest finalist. The contest, formally named the Rap-It-Up Black Aids Short Subject Film Competion (RIU/BASS), was highly publicized on BET (Black Entertainment Television). The goal of the competition was to help raise the awareness of the HIV/AIDS epidemic within the black community. The film competition received over 150 entries, but unfortunately everyone can't be a winner... ![]()

Imagine watching the evening news and seeing someone riding a skateboard on the freeway in Atlanta, GA - during rush hour. Sounds kind of crazy, huh? Some individuals do crazy things because they are risk takers, dare-devils, or they might just happen to be Evil Knievel. While others are just misinformed of the risks and consequences. I can here you saying - "So what does this have to do with Coitus Interruptus (aka, the withdrawal method of contraception)?" Let me explain... ![]()

It pays to watch GoodTimes marathons!

After a long hard day of keyboard punching, I like to watch a little boob-tube before I drift off to sleep. As I was flipping the channel on my way to the cartoon network, I happened upon the Black-American TV classic sitcom, "GoodTimes". Just like the next man, I love watching classic TV shows; so I said to myself, why not? I can miss an episode or two of "Family Guy", right?.. ![]()

For those who don't know, Livetoknow is produced by the Evancole Foundation Incorporated. We are a nonprofit organization with one mission: To get the word out to all college students about HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. Especially, African-American students, because according to statistics, they are more likely than any other demographic to contract a sexually transmitted disease in the United States... ![]()
